Effects of ultraviolet and heat on the enzymatic action of non-infectious phage lysate.

Abstract
The author has investigated the effects of ultraviolet ray and heat on the enzymatic
action of non-infectious phage lysate and obtained the following results.
By irradiating of the ultraviolet ray, 2537?, for 30 minutes at 20 cm, the enzymatic
activity of non-infectious phage lysate was not influenced.
The action of non-infectious phage lysate, however, was considerably destroyed by the
ultraviolet ray irradiated for 120 minutes.
The action of non-infectious phage lysate was also destroyed by heat and phage hemagglutination was highly produced by the sensitized red cells pretreated in non-infectious page lysate heated at 70?C for 16 minutes.
